BENGALURU: Former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party Central Parliamentary Board member B.S. Yediyurappa on Saturday cautioned the ruling Congress government in Karnataka to stop at once the alleged harassment to his party men by the ruling party accusing BJP party functionaries of allegedly involved in bulk registration of pre-filled and forged Form-7 to delete selected voters names from the electoral rolls.
First Information Reports have been registered against individuals including some BJP leaders accusing them of being involved in bulk deletion of names of selected voters in Bhalki, N.R. Mohalla, Belagavi and others.
Taking exception to FIRs against his party men, Yediyurappa stated “BJP will not tolerate the harassment meted out to his party men” and warned to take agitation across the State in coming days of alleged harassment does not stop at once.
Yediyurappa charged at Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa said he should be ashamed over staging a protest at the Chief Electoral Office, a couple of days back demanding action against persons involved in bulk distribution of pre-filled Form-7.
Instead of action against the Chief Minister, he accused police of acting to please the Chief Minister over staging a protest at the office of CEO.
A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders including former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, State president of BJP and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of Opposition in Assembly R. Ashoka on Saturday met Director General and Inspector General of Police Dr M.A. Saleem urging him to initiate steps to stop harassment to his party men by registering false FIRs over bulk deletion of voters' names.
