DyCM Welcomes It Companies Shifting From Pune to Bengaluru
Karnataka aims to become Asia’s Quantum capital, as IT firms consider shifting base from Maharashtra
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Thursday welcomed Information Technology (IT) companies shifting their base from Pune of Maharashtra to Bengaluru, Karnataka and he assured the IT companies willing to shift their base to Karnataka would be provided all necessary facilities.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of Quantum India Bengaluru-2025, Shivakumar pointed to a recent statement by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister stating IT companies based in Pune are willing to relocate to Bengaluru and said “We are in contention with States over IT but competing at the global level.”
He said Maharashtra too has made considerable contributions in the IT sector and its Hinjewadi IT hub is one of the prominent IT hubs of Maharashtra but “IT companies willing to shift base will be welcomed wholeheartedly.”
At the inaugural function of Quantum India held at Manyata Business Park in Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated “We will position Karnataka as the Quantum capital of Asia” and said “Karnataka will establish India’s first Quantum Hardware Park, four Innovation zones and a dedicated FabLine to boost domestic manufacturing of quantum components. He exuded confidence “By 2035, we aim to create about 10,000 high-skilled jobs.”
“Globally, nations are racing in Quantum computing, cryptography and sensing. Through the National Quantum Mission, India is stepping forward, with Karnataka leading the charge,’ said the Chief Minister and stated “With Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, top research centres and a vibrant startup ecosystem, Karnataka is uniquely positioned to drive India Quantum revolution.”
Laying stress on Quantum, Siddaramaiah said, “It enables early disease detection, secure communications and smarter agriculture” and added “It strengthens national security, education and governance.”
