Drunken Driven Gets Caught After Multiple Collision In Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A car driver identified as Srinivas under the influence of liquor dashed against a Royal Enfield from behind leaving its rider Rohit with minor injuries while the car dragged the two-wheeler for about 500-metres before the four-wheeler was intercepted by the chasing motorists/public.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 7.15 pm when the rider was moving on his Royal Enfield from Sumanahalli flyover towards Nagarbhavi Circle. The breather analyser test on Srinivas reportedly confirmed that Srinivas was under the influence of liquor.

Initially, passersby noticed continuous sparks under the car driven by Srinivas and later came across a Royal Enfield being dragged by the four-wheeler. Passersby alerted Srinivas to stop but he continued to accelerate the car and collided with a couple of vehicles.

Prior to collision with several vehicles, the car driven by Srinivas hit the Royal Enfield from behind causing Rohit to fall on the road while his two-wheeler was caught under the bumper of the car driven by Srinivas. The two-wheeler was dragged for a fair distance. Rohit sustained minor injuries to his chest, hands and legs.

After the car driven by Srinivas dashed against several vehicles and alerts to stop the car went futile, passersby including some motorists managed to overtake the car driven by Srinivas and blocked his way.

Surrounded by angry motorists, Srinivas refused to get down the car and locked himself up inside the car. However, an angry public thrashed Srinivas over his disregard for fellow riders/drivers on the road.

Soon, Kamakshipalya traffic police arrived at the scene and took Srinivas into their custody. Rohit filed a complaint and police registered cases against Srinivas. The car belonging to Srinivas has been seized by the police.
