Doctor Held for Double Murder
Acting on the complaint, police on Wednesday subjected Mallesh for questioning over the death of Chandrappa and Jayamma wherein he reportedly confessed to the double murder by administering ‘Propofol’ injection on Monday in between 12.45 pm to 1 pm.
Bengaluru: An ayurvedic doctor was arrested on charge of double murder of an aged couple in Bhadravathi town of Shivamogga district after he allegedly injected the couple with high doses of anaesthetic “Propofol” injections given towards their varicose veins treatment, leading to their deaths at their house at Boothangudi on January 19 under Old Town police of Bhadravathi town.
On confirmation of their deaths, the accused doctor later decamped with gold jewelleries on the dead bodies of Chandrappa (75) a retired employee of a public sector undertaking and Jayamma (65).
The doctor was identified as V. P. Mallesh (44) reportedly confessed to the double murder which he is said to have committed to meet his financial requirements to clear his debts. The doctor also acknowledged to the police over the jewelleries he robbed on dead bodies and from the almirah.
Vishwanath G.C., son of deceased Chandrappa and Jayamma, complained to the police on January 20 over the mysterious death of his parents and suspected the role of his relative Mallesh in the death of his parents.

Police said Mallesh went to the house of his uncle and aunt to enquiry over their health wherein alleged to have committed the double murder. Investigations are on.
