Defence Minister Confirms Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team Display For 3-Days During Mysore Dasara
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar requested for participation of Surya Kiran and Sarag Aerobatic Teams at the Mysore Dasara festivities: Reports
BENGALURU: Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic team, Surya Kiran, will be participating in ensuing Mysore Dasara festivities and the team’s participation to enthral the spectators has been confirmed by Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh on Monday. However, Sarang, aerobatic display team, will give Mysore event a miss this year owing to prior commitments.
In a communication to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Rajnath Singh stated “Indian Air Force shall conduct Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team Display in Mysuru during October 18 to 20.” Rajnath Singh stated “The participation of Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team would add to the grandeur of the celebrations and provide an opportunity for the people of Karnataka to witness professionalism, skill and precision of our armed forces.”
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar requested for participation of Surya Kiran and Sarag Aerobatic Teams at the Mysore Dasara festivities and a letter was sent to the Union Minister of Defence on August 6 and Rajnath Singh responded to the request after examination.
In response to the confirmation of Surya Kiran, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar “The Government of Karnataka sincerely thanks the Defence Minister for kindly obliging and extending his support in making this possible.”
The Chief Minister assured “This year, we look forward to making the festivities more vibrant, inclusive and memorable than ever.” Dasara festivities will be inaugurated on October 11 atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru.
