CM Resolves to Take Karnataka’s Economy to 1 Trillion Dollars by 2037

Bengaluru: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Thursday completed 100 days in office and announced “we have made resolutions to take Karnataka’s economy to 1 trillion dollars by 2037, to bring malnutrition below 5 percent and to bring child dropouts and poverty down to zero.”
He, at a function to mark the 100 days in office, stated “My vision is not limited to making Karnataka the fastest-growing State in the country, but instead to make Karnataka a model State for tomorrow’s India.”
Continuing his vision for Karnataka, Shivakumar said “Our goal is Strong Karnataka.
An economically strong, socially empowered, technologically advanced and deeply rooted in the values of Karnataka.”
‘I am not just the Chief Minister, I am a public servant. I am committed to serving the people 24x7. Please cooperate in giving corruption-free administration.
I appealed to opposition parties for their cooperation but politics is what matters most to them,” he stated.
“A new resolve has been made to build a Strong Karnataka by giving priority to health, education, water security, investment and economic strength, Bengaluru’s development, regional balance, social justice, capital investment and employment,” Shivakumar said.
The Chief Minister said “All steps will be taken for the State water scarcity including Mekedatu project.
There are small hurdles for the Mahadayi project in North Karnataka” and he accused “the Central Minister from Karnataka and Members of Parliament are not trying their best to resolve the issues.”
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah drew the attention of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to the drought-hit taluks and asked the Chief Minister not to be dependent on relief from the Union Government. “
The State Government should give more attention in tackling drought. Not much rainfall can be expected after September,” he stated.
He wanted the State Government to bring into force the programmes framed including old ones.
He asked the 5-guarantee schemes to continue such as up to 200 units of free power to a household, Rs 2,000 cash benefit scheme for a female head of a family, stipend for unemployed graduates and diploma holders and two others. Deputy Chief Minister Dr G. Parameshwar spoke.
