CID To Investigate KPSC Recruitments of Veterinary Officers

 BENGALURU: The two cases registered at Vidhana Soudha police station of Bengaluru against Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) under section 10 of the Karnataka Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Corruption and Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023 have been transferred to Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Over CID sleuths taking up further investigation in the KPSC recruitment irregularities allegations, Minister of Home Priyank Kharge stated “In the interest of ensuring fair, impartial and comprehensive investigation.” Continuing, he said, “Those found responsible, irrespective of their position, will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.”

There are allegations of bribery in the recruitment process and an audio clip related to the KPSC recruitment to fill-up 400 veterinary officers leaked in which allegations are that bribes ranging from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 90 lakh from job aspirants were allegedly demanded for each post.

State Bharatiya Janata Party president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra said the Congress government has completely failed to ensure transparency in KPSC recruitment and wanted the State Government to introduce a transparent, technology-driven, corruption-free recruitment system on the lines of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

While, BJP Leader of Opposition in Assembly R. Ashok wanted the internal inquiry ordered by KPSC must be cancelled at once and sought an investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation or a judicial inquiry headed by a sitting Karnataka High Court Judge.
