Bomb Threat Hoax at Wadi Railway Station Triggers Panic
Karnataka Express halted and searched for hours after an anonymous bomb threat, later confirmed to be a hoax.
Panic struck Wadi railway station in Chittapur taluk early Sunday morning after an anonymous bomb threat was made regarding the Karnataka Express, which operates between KSR Bengaluru and New Delhi. The train was halted and thoroughly searched for nearly four hours before authorities confirmed the threat was a hoax.
The scare began when a passenger, later identified as Deep Singh Rathod (33), a native of Uttar Pradesh, allegedly called the railway control room around 1:35 am, claiming that a bomb had been planted on board. He then allegedly switched off his phone, intensifying the alarm.
Railway and police officials immediately took action, halting the train near Wadi and conducting a search of all 22 coaches. A comprehensive search operation was carried out, ultimately confirming that no explosives were found.
