YSRC Slams TD Over Land Survey Lies
Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) claimed the present revenue minister lacked an understanding of the system’s scale and the effort required to run it
VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC on Friday lambasted the ruling Telugu Desam, accusing it of spreading ‘blatant lies’ over the comprehensive land survey and seeking publicity by merely reissuing old Pattadar Passbooks. Addressing the media here, former minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) said the coalition government had not issued a single new passbook nor conducted any fresh survey. “The same pattadar passbooks issued during the Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government were returned after removing our leader’s photograph,” he alleged, asserting that no new initiative was taken on the ground.
Perni Nani explained that the land survey mechanism implemented after nearly a century was the result of painstaking groundwork under Jagan Mohan Reddy, with a clear focus on farmers’ interests and transparent land titles. He claimed the present revenue minister lacked an understanding of the system’s scale and the effort required to run it. Questioning the coalition’s claims, Nani asked why no new passbooks had been issued if a new system had indeed been introduced. “Surveyors began touring villages only after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power. From manual methods to high-end technological surveys, land reforms were our hallmark,” he said, adding that the coalition would have no option but to follow the same model in subsequent phases.
