Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has issued a stern warning to YSRC leaders and “other disruptive elements’’ who are threatening contractors and others.

Laying the stone for construction of Amarajeevi Jala Dhara Water Grid Project at Peravali in Nidadavole constituency of East Godavari district on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan said the state government will not tolerate rowdyism, rowdy-sheeters and other disruptive people.

“Such elements will be suppressed with iron-hand,” he declared. “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s treatment is the right one for you,” he maintained.

The Deputy CM said once the government decides, even a strong Naxalism base can be shattered.

He asserted that the NDA alliance government has come to power promising to eliminate anti-social elements. “Our government will not encourage the same anti-social elements. But some YSRC leaders are openly issuing threats, saying they will come back to power and take revenge. Criticism is natural. But if they cross the line and continue speaking inappropriately, the government will make sure the lines on their hands disappear,” he stated.

Pawan Kalyan accused certain leaders of stooping to low levels and instigating conflict among young children in Pithapuram in the name of castes.

“Would any sane person do this? Are there no other ways to do politics? Those who do such things should be ashamed,” he remarked.

On the occasion, Deputy Speaker R. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju appreciated Pawan Kalyan for taking steps to resolve the drinking water problem in AP with water grid projects. He said with implementation of Amarajeevi Jala Dhara project, people of his Undi assembly constituency will also stand to benefit.

Union Heavy Industries minister of state B. Srinivasa Varma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Amarajeevi Jala Dhara project following the efforts made by Pawan Kalyan.

Those present included AP Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh.
