VIJAYAWADA: YSRC leader Pothina Mahesh criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for orchestrating a vindictive campaign through fabricated liquor case allegations to divert attention from issues raised by former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mahesh charged the TD with manipulating investigative agencies, violating legal norms and abusing authority to target Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party members, asserting that the public was actively discussing these tactics.

Mahesh criticised the TD for spinning falsehoods, claiming to have evidence and alleging 350 terabytes of data was deleted, without producing any proof in court. “They act as accusers, fabricators, and judges through their yellow media,” he said. He questioned why no cases have been filed against the Andhra Pradesh Beverage Corporation or related entities if such data deletion occurred, noting that liquor transactions, tracked via QR codes under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime, are meticulously recorded by distilleries, supply chains and tax authorities. “TD’s narrative insults public intelligence, treating legitimate business as roadside deals,” he said.

Mahesh condemned the TD for targeting P. Mithun Reddy with baseless claims, noting the government’s silence on Mithun Reddy’s challenge to produce evidence linking him to the liquor policy. “False stories are spread to prejudice Mithun Reddy’s bail petition, with yellow media conducting trials to influence the judiciary,” he said.

TD is relying on coerced false testimonies, he said. “The people of Andhra Pradesh deserve truth, not manufactured scandals,” he added.
