YSRC Alleges Police, TD Block Its Candidates’ Nominations From Darsi
YSRC leader Boochepalli Siva Prasad Reddy alleged that police and TDP activists prevented party candidates from filing nominations for Darsi municipality elections.
YSR Congress Prakasam district president Boochepalli Siva Prasad Reddy has accused the coalition government of undermining democracy by misusing police machinery and preventing the YSRC candidates from filing their nominations in the Darsi municipality elections.
Speaking to media persons at Darsi on Monday, he pointed to the failure of YSRC candidate Vennapoosa Venkat Reddy and councillor nominees from reaching the nomination centre for two days. He charged that police and TDP activists erected barricades near the clock tower and prevented the YSR Congress candidates from reaching the nomination centre.
Further, the YSR Congress Prakasam district president alleged that police, despite promising protection, supported TD workers and allowed attacks on YSRC candidates.
Siva Prasad Reddy accused police of foisting false cases against people who had not even been present at the spot. They include a person travelling from the United States to his native place.
Accusing the State Election Commission of remaining a mute spectator, he demanded the intervention of the Election Commission of India and a CBI probe into the Darsi incidents.
