YSR Kadapa: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday has summoned YSRCP Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy to appear for questioning on October 14, as part of its ongoing money laundering probe into the financial trail surrounding the murder of former Andhra Pradesh state minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, uncle of former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. ED is probing the claim that an Rs 40 crore deal took place connected with the case.
Shaik Dastagiri, an accused-turned-approver in the case, claimed that a Rs 40-crore contract was promised by M. Siva Shankar Reddy and other accused to execute the murder. The ED has intensified its probe by grilling them, including prime accused Yerra Gangi Reddy, Yadati Sunil Yadav, and Umashankar Reddy, and is examining bank statements and hawala routes tied to the accused since 2019. Subsequently, it has now issued notice to Avinash Reddy.
Earlier in the year, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted its third supplementary charge sheet to the Nampally CBI Court stating that further investigation into specific call data records yielded no new evidence or additional suspects.
Meanwhile, YS Viveka’s daughter, Dr Sunitha Narreddy, has continued legal efforts through the courts seeking deeper scrutiny into unresolved aspects of the conspiracy.
