Youth Lights Cigarette Using Lamp at Temple, Draws Flak

KURNOOL: A viral video showing a youth allegedly lighting a cigarette from a sacred lamp inside a Shiva temple in Adoni has triggered widespread outrage, with devotees and social media users demanding strict action.

The incident reportedly occurred at Veerupapuram in Adoni, where the youth, identified as Vadde Eeranna, allegedly used a holy lamp lit by devotees to light a cigarette. His friends allegedly filmed the act and uploaded the video on social media instead of stopping him.

The incident drew sharp criticism, with devotees describing it as an insult to religious sentiments.

Several social media users tagged home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on X, urging immediate action against the accused and those who filmed and shared the video.

Police are yet to announce any action in the case, even as the video continues to draw widespread public attention.
