Yamini Sarma Slams YSRC Over PPP Medical Colleges
In a statement, she accused the YSRC of spreading false propaganda and launching a one-crore signature campaign to mislead the public on the issue: Reports
VIJAYAWADA: AP BJP spokesperson Sadineni Yamini Sarma on Sunday criticised the YSR Congress Party for opposing the State government’s move to develop 10 government medical colleges under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
In a statement, she accused the YSRC of spreading false propaganda and launching a one-crore signature campaign to mislead the public on the issue.
Referring to a letter written by Union health minister J.P. Nadda to AP health minister Satya Kumar Yadav, Sarma said the PPP model was being implemented in 20 States across the country. She pointed out that 919 diagnostic centres were already operating under the PPP framework, with the Centre providing 80 per cent viability gap funding and financial assistance of ₹5 crore per project.
She alleged that the YSRC’s opposition stemmed from fear that corruption worth hundreds of crores in the construction of medical colleges during its tenure would be exposed. Sarma advised former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and senior YSRC leader Perni Nani to learn from the PPP-based development models being successfully implemented nationwide.
