VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam South Zone round of Women Who Master 2026, a national-level women-only hackathon organised by Aspire For Her in collaboration with Logitech, drew enthusiastic participation from students across the region.
Hosted at Dr Lankapalli Bullayya College of Engineering (Autonomous), in association with Prajna Resources Pvt Ltd, the event was one of eight zonal rounds held across the country.
The full-day hackathon, held from 8 am to 5.30 pm, brought together students from Aditya College, Sri Vishnu Women’s College, Gayatri College, Andhra University, GITAM, KL University, Sri Vasavi Engineering College and Vignan. Wild-card opportunities also enabled more participants to showcase their ideas.
A key highlight was an official attempt to set a Guinness World Records title. The initiative aims to encourage women students to explore technology, artificial intelligence, innovation and entrepreneurship while developing solutions to real-world problems.
Participants worked individually on problem statements under the guidance of mentors and presented their solutions before a jury. An on-site multiple-choice questionnaire was also part of the evaluation.
Dr G. Madhu Kumar, secretary and correspondent of Dr Lankapalli Bullayya Colleges, and Prof. D. Deepak Chowdary, principal, welcomed the response and stressed the importance of nurturing technical skills and creativity among young women. The Skill Development Centre, led by coordinator D. Bhujanga Rao, coordinated the arrangements.
Top performers will advance to the grand finale at Logitech headquarters in Chennai, where they will work on new problem statements under industry mentorship. The winners will receive prizes of ₹1 lakh, ₹75,000 and ₹50,000, besides certificates and career opportunities.
