Welfare Hostels Shaping Future Of students: Minister

The minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was giving special attention to the welfare of SC/ST communities and encouraging girl students to study well and aim high.

Kurnool: Minister of social welfare Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy stressed that the social welfare hostels were proving to be stepping stones for the future of underprivileged students in the state.

During a surprise inspection of the Post-Matric Girls Welfare Hostels 1 & 2 at Girinath Centre in Nandyal on Monday, the minister has interacted with the students and staff to assess facilities. He enquired about the number of rooms, occupancy, cleanliness, quality of food, maintenance of kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and the implementation of study hours.

The minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was giving special attention to the welfare of SC/ST communities and encouraging girl students to study well and aim high.

District collector G. Rajakumari, who accompanied the minister, said the government was committed to providing quality education and facilities to the poor.

Rajakumari has urged the eligible students to utilise the welfare hostels, which offer free education and nutritious food without any financial burden.
