Waltair Division of ECR celebrates 76th Republic Day

Visakhapatnam: The Waltair Division of East Coast Railway celebrated the 76th Republic Day at the Waltair Railway Football Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Divisional Railway Manager Manoj Kumar Sahoo unfurled the National Flag and inspected a Rastriya Salute by contingents of the Railway Protection Force, Civil Defence, and Bharat Scouts & Guides.

The DRM highlighted record achievements, including 76.48 million metric tonnes of freight loaded and revenue of ₹10,268 crore this fiscal year. Infrastructure upgrades included 69 km of doubling and third-line works, signalling improvements, and 1,366 long-haul freight trains handled. Sustainability efforts generated 1.73 million solar units, saving ₹64.81 lakh on electricity bills.

The event featured cultural performances by the Waltair Divisional Cultural Association, bike stunts by the RPF, and health drink distributions by the East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation to patients.
