VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam city police recovered stolen and missing property valued at ₹1,20,58,150 during the month of July. In the July edition of the recovery mela, following a month-long crackdown on property offences, special teams deployed throughout the city detected 64 cases and arrested 66 offenders across various categories.

During July, there were 101 reported property offences, which included 2 robberies, 4 daytime house burglaries, 11 nighttime house burglaries, 1 snatching, 2 car thefts, 1 auto theft, 19 motorcycle thefts, 5 wire thefts, 1 public property offence, and 18 ordinary thefts. The recovered assets comprised 1.26 kg of gold, 1.92 kg of silver, ₹14.32 lakh in cash, 15 motorcycles, 2 cars, 1 auto, 259 mobile phones (including 250 missing and 9 stolen), a laptop, a weighing machine, 29 kg of copper wire, and 2 stainless steel counters.

The CEIR-based mobile recovery initiative successfully retrieved 250 missing phones valued at ₹37.5 lakh in July alone, bringing the total number of recovered phones to 6,784, with a cumulative value of ₹10.17 crore.
