Vizag: One Killed, 2 Injured As Concrete Mixer Lorry Rams Into Workers

Visakhapatnam: In a tragic road accident, a labourer was killed and two injured after a speeding lorry rammed into them on Wednesday.
According to police, two labourers were unloading goods near the National Highway in Akkayyapalem when a speeding ready-mix concrete lorry lost control and crashed into them.
Police said the accident occurred after the lorry driver reportedly dozed off at the wheel. Officials said the vehicle first hit a wall near a bus stop, then rammed a parked goods vehicle and finally struck the workers who were unloading. One person died on the spot due to the impact of the accident, while the other two, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to hospital.
Police reached the spot immediately after receiving information and took up rescue operations. The body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem, while the injured person is undergoing treatment.
Traffic on the National Highway was disrupted for some time following the accident. Police regulated the movement of vehicles. Further details about the victims' identification are awaited.
