Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam airport recorded an increase in passenger traffic and aircraft movement in April 2025 compared to last year, reflecting the growing demand for air travel in the region. According to data from the Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association (APATA), the airport saw an 11.58 per cent rise in passenger numbers, with 244,665 travellers using its services, up from 219,265 in April 2024. The number of aircraft movements also increased by 7.32 per cent, reaching 1,906 in April 2025.
The surge in air travel comes amid efforts to expand domestic and international connectivity from Visakhapatnam airport. Officials have hinted at introducing new flight routes, boosting accessibility and convenience for travellers. This expansion is expected to enhance the city’s position as a key hub for air travel, strengthening business and tourism opportunities.
