Visakhapatnam: Hectic, mostly entertainment-focused activities have been planned for the upcoming Visakha and other districts’ Utsavs, scheduled to run from January 24 to February 1, culminating in a grand finale.

Visakhapatnam in-charge minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy announced that the Anakapalli Utsav would be held on January 24 and 25, and the Visakha and Araku Utsav from January 26 to January 31. Since February fell on a Sunday, a special Utsav would be held in Araku Valley.

He asked all the collectors to coordinate and make the event memorable. In Visakhapatnam, the festival would be held at RK Beach, Rushikonda, Bheemili, Sagarnagar, and four other places. The minister asked the GVMC officials to remove all garbage from every nook and corner of the city by appointing additional sanitary workers and improving lighting to ensure the safety of women and tourists visiting from outside.

He suggested that port management cover the coal and other dusty cargo during transport out of the city. The minister held a meeting with the MLAs and officials after the DRC, during which home minister V. Anitha joined virtually and offered suggestions. Visakhapatnam collector MN Harinder Prasad and GVMC corporators attended the meeting.
