Visakhapatnam: Residents of around 40–50 villages in the Bobbili constituency have urged the establishment of a new railway station at Manapuram to improve regional connectivity. Led by local Telugu Desam leader Madaka Tirupati Rao, they submitted a petition to Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appalanaidu and Bobbili MLA RSVKK Ranga Rao.
They pointed out that the existing station at Komatipalli is too far and lacks proper road access, causing hardship for surrounding villages.
Earlier, MP Appalanaidu, MLA Ranga Rao (Baby Nayana), Bobbili Urban Development Authority chairman and former MLA Tentu Lakshmu Naidu took part in the Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu (First Step in Good Governance) programme held in Tentuvalasa village of Badangi mandal.
As part of the initiative, the leaders went door to door to explain the developmental works and welfare schemes implemented by the coalition government over the past year. They assured the public that the government is fulfilling its electoral promises in a phased manner and that pending promises will be implemented soon. Several local leaders also participated in the programme.
