BJP AP chief P.V.N. Madhav reviews centenary celebrations, and Atal Smriti Van works
Vijayawada: Preparations are in full swing for the unveiling of a bronze statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Amaravati on December 25 as part of his birth centenary celebrations. BJP Andhra Pradesh president P.V.N. Madhav on Tuesday inspected the arrangements at Venkatapalem and reviewed the facilities being developed at Atal Smriti Van.
During the visit, Madhav examined the statue installation works and reviewed the progress of the memorial park, which is being developed as a visitor-friendly space. The Smriti Van will feature museum-style exhibits showcasing Vajpayee’s life, ideals and contributions to the nation, offering an immersive experience for visitors.
Addressing party leaders and cadres, Madhav said it was a moment of pride that Amaravati would host its first statue honouring Vajpayee. “As we mark Vajpayee’s birth centenary, it gives us immense happiness to install his bronze statue in the capital city. The statue will stand as a source of inspiration and motivation for generations,” he said.
Recalling Vajpayee’s political legacy, the BJP state president described him as a leader who led public life without a blemish of corruption and without making enemies. “His life, marked by integrity, statesmanship and consensus-building, is an ideal for all those in public life,” he said.
Madhav said the BJP would draw inspiration from Vajpayee’s vision to steer Andhra Pradesh towards a developed and progressive future. He also informed that senior BJP leaders from New Delhi would attend the unveiling ceremony.
