Urdu Academy to Hold Week-Long Golden Jubilee Celebrations: Minister Farooq
Shubli reiterated that the coalition government is committed to the all-round development of minorities, including skill development, youth empowerment and enhanced employment opportunities in technology and artificial intelligence.
Vijayawada: Minister for law and minority welfare N. Md. Farooq on Wednesday announced that the Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy will organise week-long celebrations from December 16 to 20 under the title “Surur-e-Urdu Mahotsav” to mark its golden jubilee, calling it a historic milestone in the promotion of Urdu language and culture in the state.
Addressing a review meeting with Urdu Academy staff at Shah Jahur Musafir Khana in Vijayawada, the minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is the only leader in the country who has consistently supported the comprehensive development of the Urdu language. The meeting was chaired by Urdu Academy chairman Mohammed Farooq Shubli.
Emphasising that language has no link with religion, Farooq said the Academy would enter a new chapter under the Chief Minister’s leadership, with fresh focus on language development and institutional strengthening. He said that sincere employees would be recognised while negligence of duties would invite departmental action.
Chairman Shubli said all employees were part of a single family and urged them to work with full dedication, treating the Academy’s challenges as their own. He announced that week-long celebrations would commence after the Chief Minister releases a special commemorative brochure. Special focus will be given to the Rayalaseema region, he added.
Of the 159 employees, 14 were absent from the meeting, and the Secretary was instructed to issue memos to them immediately.
Shubli reiterated that the coalition government is committed to the all-round development of minorities, including skill development, youth empowerment and enhanced employment opportunities in technology and artificial intelligence.
He further announced plans to personally inspect Urdu Academy library and computer centres across the State over the next 90 days to review their functioning.
