Urban Poll Results Reflect Public Support For Alliance Government, Says Naidu
The state administration was prepared to identify and rectify mistakes: Reports
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said the urban local body election results reflected public support for the alliance government, mainly its efforts to address people’s problems and deliver effective administration.
He said people had backed the alliance after recognising its efforts to resolve public grievances.
Naidu said the government was functioning in accordance with people’s wishes and expectations.
He would continue giving priority to resolving people’s problems. The government was working beyond political considerations to improve public services.
The state administration was prepared to identify and rectify mistakes. It was also working to remove hardships faced by people while providing people-friendly administration, he said.
On development, he said welfare and development programmes had been accelerated across the state. The government was committed to completing the Polavaram project and had taken up irrigation projects on priority. Water had already been supplied through the Veligonda project.
Naidu said construction of Amaravati was progressing rapidly. The previous government had left roads in a damaged condition but “we took up reconstruction works in earnest.”
The CM acknowledged that several problems he inherited from the previous administration remained unresolved, but said the government was addressing them in a systematic manner.
Describing “good politics and good governance” as the guiding principle of his administration, Naidu said people would support a government that worked for their welfare.
