UPSC Prelims Conducted Smoothly At 13 Centres In Tirupati
Collector Venkateswar directed the examination staff to ensure foolproof conduct of the exams, with strict monitoring and coordination across centres.
TIRUPATI: The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination was conducted smoothly on Sunday across 13 centres in Tirupati, with no untoward incidents reported. The district administration had made arrangements to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.
District special officer Kona Sasidhar, Collector S. Venkateswar, UPSC joint secretary S.G. Ajmeera, and district revenue officer G. Narasimhulu inspected multiple centres to monitor arrangements, including security and logistics. Facilities such as medical camps, drinking water, ORS packets, and emergency medicines were arranged in view of the summer heat.
Collector Venkateswar directed the examination staff to ensure foolproof conduct of the exams, with strict monitoring and coordination across centres. Out of 5,261 registered candidates, 2,941 (55.90%) attended the morning session, while 2,929 (55.67%) attended in the afternoon.
District superintendent of police V. Harshavardhan Raju reviewed the security setup and instructed thorough frisking of candidates using metal detectors. He also ensured that women’s bags were checked and nearby internet cafes and photocopy shops remained closed during the exam to prevent malpractice.
Police personnel were deployed at all centres, with a DSP-level officer supervising the process. Traffic arrangements were also made to avoid congestion during the afternoon session, ensuring a smooth examination process.
