Tirupati: Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy’s efforts to highlight the district’s issues in Lok Sabha have yielded positive response from union ministers. The LS member drew the attention of parliament to various longstanding development and welfare needs of Nellore district. He wanted the respective union ministers to resolve them.
The MP sought from union minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh establishment of a fishing jetty at Ponnampudi Paturu in Vidavaluru mandal. To Vemireddy’s plea for enhanced healthcare infrastructure for serving and retired central government employees, union labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya agreed to set up an Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in Nellore.
The Lok Sabha member raised concerns over the proposal to change the PIN code of Chiraman village from 524308 to 524304, which could lead to difficulties for the people of his constituency. Union minister of state for rural development Pemma Chandra Shekhar Reddy assured that the existing PIN code of the village will be retained.
The MP suggested in the parliament that the unused Khadi office in Kandukur be converted into a skill development centre. Union MSME minister Jitendra Manjhi directed officials to take necessary measures in this regard.
