Two Thieves Arrested with Ornaments Worth Rs.45 Lakh

Police added that 17 cases had already been registered against them across nine police stations before their arrest

Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam district police apprehended two individuals involved in a series of thefts across the district and recovered stolen property worth approximately Rs.45 lakh, including gold, silver, diamond ornaments, and vehicles. The arrested were identified as Pola Bhaskara Rao and Muddada Narasingha Rao.

According to the police, they seized 37 tolas of gold ornaments valued at Rs.40.02 lakh, a diamond bracelet, a diamond locket, 20 tolas of silver articles worth Rs.26,000, cash amounting to Rs.25,000, two motorcycles, and a four-wheeler from the accused.

During interrogation, the duo confessed to committing 16 thefts in Srikakulam district and one in Palakonda, Manyam district. Their criminal history also includes thefts in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts.

Police added that 17 cases had already been registered against them across nine police stations before their arrest. Additionally, Muddada Narasingha Rao was found responsible for stealing two motorcycles.
