Kadapa: Two persons have died after a sand-laden tipper allegedly hit their motorcycle near Upparapalli in T. Sundupalle mandal of Annamayya district in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Reddycherla Ravindra, 38, and Appannagari Jayaram, 40, both residents of Chinnagollapalli village.

The incident triggered protests by villagers, who alleged that reckless driving by sand-laden tippers and illegal sand transportation were endangering public safety. They staged a road blockade for nearly an hour, demanding stringent action against those responsible.
Police from Sundupalle reached the spot, pacified the protesters and restored traffic. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
Residents said the frequent movement of sand-laden trucks through the area had raised safety concerns among villagers.
