Two Arrested In Nellore Murder Case
On August 13, around 12:45 pm, near Victoria Garden Street close to Alankar Centre in Moolapet, the victim, Sheikh Laik, was chased and attacked by two men armed with knives.
Nellore: Police arrested two persons in connection with the brutal murder of a 35-year-old man in Nellore city earlier this week.
On August 13, around 12:45 pm, near Victoria Garden Street close to Alankar Centre in Moolapet, the victim, Sheikh Laik, was chased and attacked by two men armed with knives. The accused, identified as Syed Nooruddin alias Basha, 30, and Sheikh Usman alias Dawoo, 25, stabbed Laik multiple times in the chest, stomach, and back, causing fatal injuries.
According to the complaint filed by Laik’s brother Sheikh Rafi, Nooruddin bore a personal grudge, alleging that the victim was trying to develop an illicit relationship with his wife and was also causing him financial and mental distress. Nooruddin, with the help of his friend Usman, allegedly plotted and executed the murder.
A special police team formed by Additional SP and Nellore Town DSP P. Sindhu Priya apprehended the accused on August 16 at 11:00 am near Tidco Houses in Bhagat Singh Colony. Police seized the murder weapons and a motorbike used in the crime.
The accused were produced before court and remanded. The ASP and DSP commended Inspector C.H. Koteshwara Rao, SI A. Ayyappa, SI Abdul Razak, and the crime team led by HC Suresh along with constables Najmal Hussain, Shyam, Subba Rao, Riaz, Vardhan, and Mohammed for their swift investigation.
