Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD)

Persistent rain affected normal activity on Tirumala on Monday, leaving many pilgrims indoors or seeking shelter wherever space was available.

The drop in temperature added to the discomfort, particularly for elderly devotees and children. Finding accommodation also became difficult for several pilgrims, with some taking shelter under available sheds and at commercial establishments as the rain continued.

TTD additional executive officer C.H. Venkayya Chowdary said comprehensive precautionary measures had been taken to ensure that devotees visiting Tirumala did not face inconvenience due to cyclone-induced rain.

Reviewing arrangements with officials from various departments at Padmavathi Guest House on Monday, he directed them to ensure speedy darshan, prevent queues from extending outside and maintain uninterrupted distribution of Annaprasadam.

He instructed officials to erect tarpaulins wherever necessary to protect devotees receiving food, provide safe accommodation in rooms and compartments, and maintain uninterrupted power supply.

He also directed engineering and vigilance teams to strengthen safety measures along the ghat roads, particularly in areas vulnerable to falling rocks. Medical personnel were asked to remain available to provide immediate assistance to devotees injured in slippery conditions.

Stressing coordination among all departments, he directed officials to ensure safe and hassle-free darshan and facilitate the safe return of devotees to their destinations.
