Traffic Chaos At Vizag Airport As YSRCP Blocks Roads For YS Jagan Visit
YSRCP workers, mobilised by local leaders, reached the airport in large numbers, displayed placards and raised slogans in support of YS Jagan.
Visakhapatnam: Traffic came to a standstill near Visakhapatnam Airport after a large number of YSRCP supporters gathered during former chief minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to the district on Thursday.
Supporters defied police restrictions on rallies and crowd gatherings, blocking routes toward Sheelanagar and causing major gridlock on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway
Party workers, mobilised by local leaders, reached the airport in large numbers, displayed placards and raised slogans in support of Jagan. At one point, they allegedly blocked vehicles on the airport approach road, triggering a major traffic jam.
Long queues of vehicles were reported from Viman Nagar towards Sheela Nagar, with congestion spilling onto the Chennai–Kolkata National Highway and causing inconvenience to commuters.
YS Jagan is slated to visit Ampolu district jail to meet former minister Seediri Appalaraju, who is currently in remand. Police had earlier announced that rallies, public gatherings and large-scale mobilisation were not permitted. However, YSRCP supporters allegedly ignored the restrictions, resulting in severe traffic disruption around the airport and adjoining highway.
