Tirupati: Tirupati will host the first of three major public meetings planned by the NDA coalition government in Andhra Pradesh to highlight the achievements of the Central and State governments over the past two years.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at Daminedu village in Tirupati Rural mandal on Tuesday. Senior leaders of the Telugu Desam, Jana Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party will share the platform as part of the NDA’s statewide outreach campaign focused on publicising welfare and development initiatives.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav, Union minister of state Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, IT minister N. Lokesh, district in-charge minister Anagani Satya Prasad and several ministers, MLAs and public representatives are expected to attend.
Elaborate arrangements have been made at the 14-acre venue near the Indiramma Housing Colony at Daminedu. Around three acres have been earmarked for vehicle parking and one acre for food stalls, while the remaining area has been allocated for public seating.
The district administration and coalition leaders expect a large turnout, particularly from beneficiaries of government welfare schemes. Party leaders have been mobilising supporters and beneficiaries from across the district to participate in the programme.
District collector Dr S. Venkateswar said the meeting would be held from 11 am to 1.30 pm. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to arrive at Tirupati Airport by helicopter at 10.40 am, attend the programme and return to Undavalli at 2 pm.
Superintendent of police L. Subba Rayudu said more than 1,000 police personnel would be deployed for security and traffic management. Special measures have also been put in place to ensure smooth traffic flow on the national highway and adjoining roads.
