Thunderstorms Forecast In AP From Tomorrow For Two Days

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh state disaster management authority on Thursday said due to southeasterly and southwesterly winds prevailing in the lower troposphere over Andhra Pradesh, several districts are likely to receive light rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during the next two days.

On Friday, light rains with thunder and lightning are likely at isolated places in Alluri Sitarama Raju, Polavaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Sri Sathya Sai, YSR Kadapa, Chittoor and Tirupati districts.

Similar weather conditions are expected to continue on Saturday in several districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

At the same time, severe heatwave conditions are likely in G.K. Veedhi mandal of Alluri district, while heatwave conditions may prevail in a few mandals of Alluri, East Godavari and Polavaram regions.

Some areas recorded rainfall towards the evening. 21.5 mm of rainfall has been recorded at Gamparai in Alluri district and 15.2 mm at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, officials said.
