TIRUPATI: A three-year-old girl who suffered severe burn injuries after accidentally spilling hot water on herself while playing near her house died while undergoing treatment on Sunday night.
The incident occurred at Pathagunta village in the Vedurukuppam mandal of the Gangadhara Nellore Assembly constituency in the Chittoor district. The child, Madhusri, was the younger daughter of Arun Kumar and Suryalahari.
According to the family, the incident took place about a week ago when the girl was playing outside the house. During that time, she accidentally overturned a vessel containing hot water kept on a stove, resulting in serious burn injuries. Family members immediately shifted her to the S.V.R. Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati for treatment.
As her condition remained critical, doctors referred her to the Christian Medical College in Vellore for advanced care. Despite receiving treatment for several days, her condition deteriorated, and she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday night. The death of the child has cast a pall of gloom over Pathagunta village.
