Tension in Pulivendula After Clash Near Ganesh Idol

KADAPA: Tense situation prevailed in Pulivendula of Kadapa district late on Monday night following a clash between groups of Pushpanath Reddy and Vijay Kumar Reddy near a Ganesh idol.
According to preliminary information, the dispute reportedly began when Vijay Kumar Reddy questioned Pushpanath Reddy over not being felicitated. The argument escalated into a confrontation between the two groups.
During the incident, a gunman attached to Hajj Committee director Mahaboob Basha allegedly fired one round into the air, triggering panic among people gathered at the spot.
Later, some members of the Pushpanath Reddy group allegedly damaged three vehicles parked near Vijay Kumar Reddy’s residence.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. An investigation is under way into the circumstances leading to the clash, the firing incident and the damage to the vehicles.
