Vijayawada: A Telugu inscription engraved on a slab found inside Nallamala forest near Dornala village in Prakasam district in AP.

The inscription is written in Telugu language and characters were dated in Saka 1440, Bahudhanya, Ashada, su 15, Monday, related to the 1518 common era on June 23.

It records the digging of a well and construction of a sluice for the temple lands of the god Mallikarjunadeva of Sri Parvata by Velanga Parvatanayani for the merit of his master Kemi Devuni Lingaya, chief of Immadi Lingayya, and his elder wife Yallamma. Kemideva, who was the agent of Siddha Bhikshavritti Ayyamgaru, the pontiff of the Virasaiva mutt at Srisailam.
