Telugu Desam to Conduct Mini Mahanadus in Krishna District
Ravindra slams Jagan government over corruption, praises TDP’s leadership history
Vijayawada: Kollu Ravindra, the minister for excise, mines and geology, announced plans to organise regional conclaves under the Mini Mahanadu concept from May 21 and May 23, leading up to grand Mahanadu event scheduled from May 27 to 29 at Kadapa. He highlighted the Telugu Desam's unique capability in selecting leadership and its historical significance in Andhra Pradesh politics. The regional Mini Mahanadu in Machilipatnam constituency will be held on May 21, and in Krishna district on May 23.
Reflecting on the current political climate, Ravindra asserted that the recent arrest of Gali Janardhan Reddy corroborates the TD government's efforts against rampant corruption in the state. He criticised previous government, including Jagan Reddy, for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices, questioning Jagan's response amid the revelations of malfeasance.
The minister accused Jagan of prioritising his own interests over the public welfare and lining his pockets at the expense of public health. He highlighted that the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had unveiled significant irregularities in the liquor policy implementation, which contributed to rampant corruption. He challenged his political opponents, particularly former minister Perni Nani, to account for their actions during this period of alleged looting through government liquor sales.
