Kurnool: BJP state vice-president S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy on Wednesday lashed out at the Telangana government, accusing it of provoking disputes over Andhra Pradesh’s rightful share of water. Addressing a press meet in Kurnool, he alleged that Telangana was misusing water from unauthorised projects and diverting flows meant for the sea—calling such actions “completely unjust.”

He expressed concern that Rayalaseema, whose farmers gave up land for the Srisailam project, was now being denied water. Terming Telangana’s letter opposing Andhra’s pending projects like Banakacharla as “shameful,” he said that if AP had responded similarly in the past, several Telangana projects would never have materialised. “We wish Telangana well, but not at the cost of Andhra’s rights,” he clarified.

Welcoming newly appointed BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav, he said the party was focused on expanding its presence across Andhra. As part of this, Madhav launched a state tour beginning from Kadapa to energize grassroots cadres.

Commenting on TTD developments, Reddy backed the state government’s action against employees who acted against Hindu traditions. He welcomed the removal of such individuals and urged non-Hindu employees in TTD to voluntarily resign in respect of temple traditions.
