Vijayawada:The stage is set for the grand state-level Teachers’ Day celebrations here on Saturday with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as chief guest presenting awards to outstanding educators.

The event will be held at the A-Convention Centre, Labbipet, between 2 pm and 5 pm. NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha reviewed the arrangements with officials on Friday.

A total of 183 awardees — comprising teachers, lecturers, and professors selected from across the state — will be felicitated. Seating arrangements will be made in strict order of the awardees’ list, while invitations and information have already been dispatched to ensure smooth participation.

The collector instructed officials to complete preparations for the rendition of Vandemataram, Jana Gana Mana, and Maa Telugu Thalli songs in a timely and disciplined manner.

Special focus has been laid on guests’ seating, stage management, barricading, uninterrupted power supply with backup generators, and attractive decoration of the venue with greenery under the supervision of the horticulture department.

Sanitation and safety have been prioritised, with police coordinating the security measures, fire services ensuring preventive steps, and the medical department arranging emergency care. Transport officials have been tasked with streamlining vehicle movement and parking facilities to avoid inconvenience to participants.

“The state government is conducting this prestigious event in Vijayawada, and every official must work in unison to make it a resounding success,” the collector said.
