TD’s Sapling for Vote, Not Money Campaign in Tirupati
The senior Telugu Desam leader asked people to exercise their franchise responsibly and elect candidates who would contribute to Tirupati’s development.
Tirupati: In a different approach to election campaigning in Tirupati’s Auto Nagar, Telugu Desam senior leader Ajay Pratap distributed saplings to voters, seeking their support for NDA alliance candidates.
Accompanied by Tirupati mayoral candidate J.B. Srinivas and other alliance candidates, Ajay Pratap proceeded from door to door. He asked voters to accept the “sapling for a vote, not money.”
Ajay Pratap maintained that the initiative is aimed at spreading awareness about environmental protection while campaigning for the local body elections. Planting a sapling would benefit the environment for years, just as a single vote could influence the city’s future.
The senior Telugu Desam leader asked people to exercise their franchise responsibly and elect candidates who would contribute to Tirupati’s development.
He asserted that development and welfare programmes have gained momentum under the NDA government. “While voting is a democratic responsibility, planting and nurturing trees is a responsibility towards nature,” Ajay Pratap added.
