VISAKHAPATNAM: Salur town police of Parvathipuram Manyam district questioned TD and YSRC leaders in connection with the sexual harassment case filed by Bora Triveni, an office assistant in the MPDO office, against B. Satish, the unofficial PA of tribal welfare minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani.
Inspector of Saluru town police, Vasu Naidu, said they questioned Tarlada Laxmoji, councilor and floor leader of Saluru municipality, who joined TD from YSRC; Pachipenta Prasad, former MPP and TD activist; YSRC leader Reddy Suresh Kumar; and Mahila Mandal president Balaga Radha.
The inspector did not reveal the contents of the questioning but said more activists from both parties would be questioned.
It may be recalled that Bora Triveni, a widow and mother of three children and working as a clerk in the MPDO office, filed a complaint at the Salur police station against B. Satish, unofficial PA of minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani, accusing him of sexual harassment, extortion, and cheating.
But Parvathipuram Manyam district superintendent of police Madhav Reddy dismissed allegations of sexual harassment and other cases as completely baseless. He also ordered the arrest of the complainant and her accomplice, Devi Prasad, for conspiracy and defamation. Both were taken into custody and released on bail.
The SP said a forensic investigation had found the allegations to be a deliberate fabrication. The woman and her friend, together, created fake SMS messages, he said.
