TD Leaders Accuse YSRC of Attempt to Stir Up Caste, Communal Unrest
Telugu Desam state president Palla Srinivasa Rao held a teleconference with the party leaders and exhorted them not to take law into their hands. They should not be carried away by social media posts and get provoked.
Vijayawada: In a chorus, several Telugu Desam leaders and ministers slammed the YSRC and its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for their “attempts to stir up caste and communal unrest” to derive political mileage.
Revenue minister Anagani Satyaprasad alleged that the former chief minister was unable to digest the development of the state and castigated him for “practising the politics of hatred and destruction,” and said this was in the DNA of the YSRC.
The Telugu Desam is on the defensive after its “goons” unleashed violence against some senior YSRC leaders and ex-ministers in recent days.
The minister alleged that the YSRC abused the farmers of Amaravati region while the former chairman of the AP legislative council was assaulted, killed Thota Chandaiah by cutting his throat and murdered a 14-year old boy named Amar in previous events. “Our government is providing all help to the affected families,” he said.
Agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu said the TD had been protecting the people’s interests in the last 44 years and blamed the previous YSRC government for conspiring to decimate the TD by implicating its leaders in several false cases.
He said that the people had given a mandate to TD in the last polls, believing that it would rebuild the state.
Women welfare minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani claimed that the “people” revolted against former YSRC minister Ambati Rajababu over his derogatory remarks. She threw a challenge to former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to attend the assembly sessions with his 11 MLAs on February 11.
Telugu Desam state president Palla Srinivasa Rao held a teleconference with the party leaders and exhorted them not to take law into their hands. They should not be carried away by social media posts and get provoked.
The TD, he said, would follow democratic traditions and the party leaders and cadre should respect law to promote the party’s brand image.
