The TD delegation comprised AP Legislative Council chief whip Panchumarthi Anuradha, former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, TD politburo member Varla Ramaiah, and TD Education Infrastructure Committee chairman Rajasekhar.

SPOTBUS IoT devices in APSRTC buses for flawless Stree Sakthi services

Vijayawada:In alignment with the Stree Shakti free RTC bus travel scheme for women from August 15, the BONbLOC inaugurated its SPOTBUS IoT devices in RTC buses across Vijayawada, Guntur, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati for flawless RTC bus services.

Souri Govindarajan, CEO of BONbLOC, announced the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art hub at the Medha Towers IT Park, Gannavaram, on Wednesday.

The CEO said BONbLOC would invest in the Vijayawada hub over the next 24 months towards infrastructure, talent acquisition and technology enablement. On supporting Stree Shakti with SPOTBUS IoT Innovation, Govindarajan said these devices, initially linked to five services, would enable real-time tracking and route optimization, enhanced safety and monitoring. Data-driven insights would be provided for fleet management.

He said, “We are partnering with local academic institutions for skill development and internships driving regional employment and contributing to the state’s digital economy.”


Brahmani tours Mangalagiri, inaugurates development projects

Vijayawada: Nara Brahmani, wife of Education and IT minister Nara Lokesh, toured the Mangalagiri constituency on Wednesday, inspecting various development and welfare initiatives. She began her visit by inaugurating Lakshmi Sarees & Dress Materials showroom at Golivari Street. Darsi constituency Telugu Desam in-charge Gottipati Lakshmi accompanied her.

Brahmani purchased a handloom saree and underlined that Lokesh is committed to reviving the handloom sector in Mangalagiri. In Kaza village, she visited a free tailoring training centre run with the support of BC Finance Corporation.

She Interacted with the trainees, appreciated their work and wished them success. At the request of trainees, she joined them in a group photo session. At SLN Colony, Brahmani inspected the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Park developed on 0.35 acres at a cost of ₹1.06 crore.

She enjoyed herself on a swing in the park. Later, she visited the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, inspected an RO mineral water plant set up with Divis Laboratories’ support, and reviewed the free electric bus service for devotees of the temple. Brahmani rode the bus and interacted with the devotees.


Tight security at Gurajada Apparao’s residence

Visakhapatnam:The Vizianagaram district administration has arranged stringent security measures at the residence of Mahakavi Gurajada Apparao on Wednesday after an act of vandalism by an unidentified individual.

Condemning the incident in strong terms, district collector BR Ambedkar ordered immediate security for the poet. He also promised strict action against the errant.

Ambedkar advised district tourism officer Kumaraswamy to inspect the site and submit a detailed report. It was found that the perpetrator, reportedly intoxicated, had damaged property at the poet’s residence.

Police said they have arrested the accused. Gurajada’s family member, Indira, was informed of the incident.

A set of security enhancement measures was recommended to the archaeological department to safeguard Mahakavi Gurajada Apparao’s residence. These include installing iron railings along the rear boundary wall to prevent unauthorised entry, deploying regular police patrols during night hours to deter potential miscreants, deepening the trench behind the wall to restrict access, and upgrading the CCTV surveillance system to ensure continuous real-time monitoring of the premises.

GVMC opens cells for Ganesh pandal permissions

Visakhapatnam:Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) commissioner Ketan Garg has announced establishment of single-window clearance cells to streamline permissions for Ganesh Chaviti celebrations on August 27.

These cells will be located at the GVMC head office and all zonal offices. Individuals, resident welfare associations, NGOs and festival committees can approach these cells before setting up their idols in various areas of the port city.

At the GVMC head office, the designated nodal officers are Dr. E.N.V. Naresh Kumar, chief medical officer (Phone 98483 08823), V. Meena Kumari, city planner (83749 96677) and D. Sridhar, executive engineer, electrical department (81878 98427).

Zonal-level permissions can be obtained from respective zonal commissioners, assistant medical officers, city planners and engineers.

Ketan Garg requested citizens to put up only eco-friendly clay Ganesh idols. He underlines that idols made of plaster of Paris, thermocol, or painted with synthetic chemicals are strictly prohibited. Organisers planning stages for entertainment of public must secure prior approval from the designated officers.
