TD Clears Three as Party’s Rajya Sabha Candidates

Vijayawada:Telugu Desam on Saturday night announced the names of Sana Satish Babu, Bhashyam Ramakrishna and Chintakayala Vijay as its candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

Party president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the three have been selected after extensive consultations, taking into account the nominees’ contributions to the party, public service and prominence in their respective fields.

The three leaders are expected to file their nominations on Monday.

The nominations reflect the party’s effort to balance social representation, organisational commitment and youth participation in the Upper House.

Sana Satish Babu is an entrepreneur and honorary secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association. He has been active in sports administration and social welfare initiatives. He was instrumental in the party against the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu by the then YSRC government and played crucial role supporting Naidu and party.

Satish Babu also played important role in the withdrawal of Giri Balija name to Dommara community due to protest from Balija community. He is also involved in healthcare, skill development, disaster relief, and community welfare programmes.

Satish Babu entered active politics with the aim of expanding his public service. During the Yuvagalam padayatra led by Nara Lokesh, he played a key organisational role in Kakinada district. As election coordinator for the undivided East Godavari district, he contributed to the NDA alliance's sweeping victories across 21 Assembly and three Parliamentary constituencies in the Godavari region.

Recognising his contributions, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, with the support of Lokesh and NDA leadership, backed his elevation to the Rajya Sabha.

Bhashyam Ramakrishna is the chairman of the Bhashyam Group of Educational Institutions. Under his leadership, the institution has opened more than 160 branches across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, serving over 1.59 lakh students. He is associated with philanthropic activities through the Bhashyam Peramma Charitable Trust.

Chintakayala Vijay is the party’s state general secretary and former president of Telugu Yuvatha. He is known for his organisational work at the grassroots level. He has participated in several party campaigns and padayatras, including Mee Kosam Padayatra and Yuvagalam. He has been involved in social service activities related to food distribution, healthcare outreach, and renewable energy initiatives.

The party leadership said the selections underscore TDP’s commitment to recognising merit, loyalty, and hard work while ensuring broader social balance and greater youth participation in public life.

The party assured leaders, who have not been accommodated in the current round of nominations, that it would consider providing them suitable opportunities in the future.
