Swift Alarm Thwarts Canara Bank Robbery

 Visakhapatnam: A robbery attempt at a Canara Bank branch on Ring Road was foiled on Thursday afternoon after the branch manager promptly activated the alarm, forcing the assailants to flee empty-handed.

Police said six to seven suspects arrived at the bank in two vehicles around 2.30 pm. Five of them entered the branch and allegedly threatened the woman manager with a gun. Sensing danger, she immediately pressed the alarm button, triggering a swift response that led the suspects to escape within seconds.

Anakapalli CCS Circle Inspector K. Appala Naidu said CCTV footage was being examined to identify the suspects. A case has been registered and investigations are under way, he added.
