VIJAYAWADA: YSRC state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Sunday asserted that former chief minister and YSRC president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy epitomised people-centric governance that transformed the lives of ordinary families, and said public affection for him remains undiminished despite the party’s recent electoral setback.

Addressing grand birthday celebrations of Jagan Mohan Reddy at the YSRC central office in Tadepalli, Sajjala paid floral tributes to the statue of late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and inaugurated a series of service-oriented programmes. The celebrations included cake-cutting with party leaders, distribution of sarees to the poor, and the launch of a blood donation camp, reflecting the party’s focus on social service.

Sajjala said Jagan Mohan Reddy governed with the welfare of every family as the core objective, implementing promises transparently and without discrimination based on caste, religion or political affiliation. He claimed that people had begun to realise what the state lost after witnessing the coalition government’s one-and-a-half-year rule, and said development that could have taken decades was achieved within five years under Jagan Mohan Reddy.

MLC Murugudu Hanumantha Rao said Jagan Mohan Reddy enjoyed unparalleled public acceptance for standing by every eligible family and redefining governance with eligibility as the sole criterion.

Several senior leaders, former ministers, MLCs, elected representatives and party functionaries attended the programme.
