Stree Shakti: Naidu, Pawan, Lokesh Travel in Bus, Interact With Women Passengers

AP CM Naidu presented Zero Fare tickets to women passengers in the bus, formally launching the Stree Shakti scheme.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu travelled in an RTC bus on Friday along with deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, BJP state president PVN Madhav and education minister Nara Lokesh, from Undavalli to the Vijayawada Pandit Nehru Bus Stand.

The occasion was the launch of the Stree Shakti free RTC bus travel scheme for women, on Independence Day. The VIPs travelled along with ordinary woman passengers. Many people, especially women, welcomed the CM and others at various bus stops along the way.

Lokesh welcomed the CM and other VIPs with a Mangalagiri shawl at the start of the trip.

The CM presented Zero Fare tickets to women passengers in the bus, formally launching the Stree Shakti scheme. The bus passed through Devudi Manyam, Undavalli Centre, Bharat Mata Circle, HP Petrol Bank on the National Highway-16 Service Road, Varadhi Bridge, Kanakadurga Varadhi, Pandit Nehru Bus Station, Vinayaka Temple Corner, Andhra Kesari Circle, Control Room Circle and reached Vijayawada City Terminal.

In a pre-arranged show, women and coalition leaders stood on both sides of the road along the route and welcomed the VIPs. The women of Mangalagiri welcomed them with traditional Mangala Aarti. The TD-JS-BJP alliance leaders celebrated the Stree Shakti launch by bursting firecrackers.
