Stray Dog Attack Leaves Five-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured In Kadiri

Residents of Nizamvali Colony said stray dogs had killed a pig a few days ago, and visuals of dogs tearing at the carcass had gone viral on social media, triggering panic among locals.

ANANTAPUR: A five-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being attacked by stray dogs at Nizamvali Colony in Kadiri town of Sri Sathya Sai district on Saturday.

According to sources, the child, Yasin, was playing in front of his house in the Kadiri municipal area when a group of stray dogs suddenly attacked him. His left ear pinna was severely damaged as the dogs chewed it, and he also sustained deep bite injuries on both thighs. By the time family members and local residents intervened, the boy had suffered serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to a private nursing home for treatment.

CPM leader Narasimhulu said no dog-catching operations or vaccination drives had been conducted in the area for the past few years, leaving residents in constant fear. He warned that the party would launch an agitation against the municipal authorities if urgent measures were not taken to control stray dogs.
